Matt Eby
Managing Partner
Matt Eby is the Founder and Managing Partner of Seawall Capital LLC. Matt oversees all investing activities and operations of the firm. He has spent his career investing across the capital structure and liquidity spectrum in a range of industries, including consumer goods & services, outdoor recreation, fitness & hospitality, tech-enabled goods & services, and real estate. Matt currently serves as the Chairman of the board for Movement Climbing, Yoga + Fitness and Sports Endeavors, also known as, Soccer.com. In addition, Matt is serving or has served as a member of the board of directors of Lime Crime, Algenist, RéVive, Cos Bar, NEST Fragrances and DevaCurl.
Prior to starting Seawall, Matt was the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Tengram Capital Partners, a consumer-focused private equity firm. Prior to Tengram, Matt was the founding Chief Investment Officer of JAWS Estates Capital, the private investment office of Barry Sternlicht and the Sternlicht family.
Before entering the investment industry, he served five years as an officer in the U.S. Navy. Matt is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and Harvard Business School. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Sharyn, their two active children, and their two more active dogs. He enjoys spending his weekends cheering from the sidelines of youth sporting events, running on the trails of Austin, and skiing down the slopes of Montana.
